Job summary

The Elliot Health System invites applications for the Coordinator Child Life Specialist - Pediatrics. You will lead, coordinate, and evaluate the Child Life Program, supervise staff, and collaborate with medical teams to ensure pediatric needs are met hospital-wide.

You will develop new programming aligned with ACLP standards, mentor staff, coordinate internships and volunteers, and engage with community partners to support children and families during hospitalization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis on human growth and development, education, psychology, or a related field.
• Child Life Specialist Credential required.
• Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience working with hospitalized and/or healthy infants, children and adolescents in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement and evaluate Child Life services for Elliot Health System; orient, train and supervise new staff.
• Mentor staff and provide feedback for performance evaluations.
• Provide consultation to medical staff and families to ensure pediatric needs are met program-wide.
• Lead development and oversight of new programming in line with ACLP standards.
• Coordinate internships, volunteer programs, and community outreach related to Child Life services.

Education

Bachelor's degree with emphasis on human growth and development, education, psychology, or a related field

Child Life Specialist Credential

Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship under supervision

3–5 years of experience with pediatric patients in hospital/private/community settings
