Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) seeks a Senior Chief Engineer to lead facilities operations for Tennessee State University in Nashville. You will oversee campus systems, manage a team, and partner with university leadership to deliver safe, efficient environments.

The role requires 7–10 years in facilities, a Chief Engineer license or equivalent, and strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation. Standard work hours apply on-site.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in facilities management or building operations.
• ≥5 years of supervisory/management experience.
• Valid Chief Engineer license or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and BAS.
• Experience using CMMS and OSHA/building codes knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred.
• CFM/CPE or similar certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of campus building systems.
• Develop preventive/predictive maintenance programs for reliability.
• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff ensuring safety and accountability.
• Manage energy management initiatives and sustainability improvements.
• Coordinate renovation, construction, and capital projects to ensure quality.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets and reports.
• Serve as liaison between JLL and university stakeholders.
