Job summary

Veolia is hiring a Chemical Plant Project Manager to lead capital and improvement projects from concept through startup in a fast-paced environment. You will coordinate across Operations, Process Eng., EHS, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project delivery.

You will define scope, cost, schedule, and safety standards, oversee external vendors and contractors, and champion a safety-first culture with end-to-end risk management and rigorous change

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a proven track record in PSM-covered or similarly regulated chemical environments.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in engineering and project execution, including equipment supply and construction in process industries.
• Hands-on experience with batch reaction and chemical blending systems and automated process controls.
• Proficiency in process-safety fundamentals, including MOC, PHA/HAZOP, and PSSR.
• PMI/ PMP certification is a plus and willingness to obtain it within a given timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from business need through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, turnover, and closeout.
• Develop charters, scopes of work, execution strategies, estimates, schedules, cash-flow forecasts, staffing and contracting plans.
• Coordinate multi-discipline design activities (process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls).
• Lead design reviews and ensure deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, control narratives) meet requirements.
• Plan brownfield work, shutdowns, tie-ins, and sequencing with Operations and Maintenance.
• Monitor scope, cost, schedule, risk, and contractor performance; drive recovery plans.
• Lead hazard reviews and ensure safety integration in design and startup strategies.
