Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a Charge Nurse for the 8AE General Medicine unit to lead a 26-bed inpatient team, ensuring safe, evidence-based care for adults with complex, non-surgical conditions. You will staff assignments, monitor patient needs, and collaborate with supervisors to maintain quality outcomes in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires NC/GA RN licensure, CPR certification, and a track record of nursing leadership. Rehabilitation nursing experience is valued; weekend shifts are common.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in NC or GA.
• CPR certification.
• CRRN preferred

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit management and safe, high-quality patient care.
• Assigns shifts based on staff education, experience and patient acuity.
• Supervises staff and partners with leadership to ensure smooth unit operations.
• Participates in performance improvement and safety initiatives.
• Documents patient care and coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges.
