Job summary

Virtuos/Black Shamrock is seeking an experienced Lead Character Artist to lead a team delivering high-quality, production-ready characters for AAA game development. You will manage artists, set standards, and remain hands-on in creating characters for real-time use in Unreal Engine 5.

The role requires leadership, strong anatomy and texture skills, and collaboration across Art Direction, Concept Art, Rigging, Animation, VFX, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Shipped PC and/or console titles with real-time characters.
• Proven leadership of character-art teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop character artists with regular feedback and planning.
• Plan and delegate work with Production to balance capacity and delivery schedules.
• Set and maintain character quality standards with Art Direction and reviews.
• Hands-on creation of high-quality real-time characters and assets.
• Oversee production from concept to in-engine implementation.
• Collaborate with Art Direction, Concept Art, Rigging and Animation.
