Job summary

The SLH Lead Sterile Processing Tech Certified coordinates the cleaning, decontamination, assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in surgery and related departments.

Collaborates with department leadership and functions with a high degree of self direction. Performs lead duties, ensures compliance with infection control and safety standards, and maintains readiness of instruments and gear for patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years with multi-specialty or instrumentation experience.
• Progressive leadership in Central Supply operations preferred.
• Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Central Sterile team meets Surgery Department demands for instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Follows guidelines for incident reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains relationships with leaders and staff to ensure flow of services and availability of supplies.
• Directs the work of others and participates in mandatory education and policy adherence.
• Retrieves equipment, decontaminates, disinfects and prepares patient care instruments for turnaround.
