Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Staff CDN Engineer to lead enterprise CDN, edge delivery, and web performance initiatives. You will define architecture, build automation, and collaborate across application, cloud, network, and security teams to improve reliability and security.

The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, incident leadership, and mentorship, with responsibility for modernizing edge platforms while ensuring production stability and service quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise CDN(Akamai), edge‑delivery, web‑performance, DNS, network‑delivery, or closely related solutions.
• Strong software engineering and automation using Python, Go, or Node.js with IaC, APIs, Git‑based development, and CI/CD.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex production incidents and technical investigations.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise CDN and edge‑delivery architectures and standards; build self‑service capabilities and pipelines.
• Serve as SME for CDN, edge delivery, web performance, DNS, TLS, caching, routing, and security; lead reviews and cross‑functional alignment.
• Lead advanced analysis across CDN components; use telemetry and logs to improve health, latency, and cache efficiency.
• Provide on‑call support and coordinate incident response; drive root‑cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Mentor engineers through architecture reviews and incidents; promote operational readiness and ownership.
• Set long‑term direction and modernization roadmap for CDN, DNS, and edge‑security platforms.
