Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a senior Cathodic Protection specialist to lead design for pipelines, tanks, and related infrastructure within the Infrastructure Advisory Technical Delivery team. You will develop CP system designs, perform complex engineering calculations, and guide project teams through a full design lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 7+ years in CP/corrosion.
• AMPP/NACE CP certification preferred.
• Experience leading cathodic protection design for pipelines and tanks.

Responsibilities

• Lead cathodic protection engineering and design tasks for new and existing infrastructure.
• Develop current CP system designs from concept through final design.
• Perform and review CP calculations: protected surface area, coating breakdown, current requirements, rectifier sizing, and related design calculations.
• Develop anode/groundbed configurations, rectifier and junction box selections, and test provisions.
• Prepare and review CP drawings, specifications, and technical memoranda.
• Evaluate existing CP systems and propose rehabilitation or optimization.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate CP requirements.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
• Support field investigations, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
