Job summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering seeks a field engineer specializing in cathodic protection to support Major Projects and internal department initiatives. You will perform design reviews, prepare sketches, and assist with commissioning coordination on pipeline facilities.

Travel is required for on-site testing, final walkdowns, and client sites. Strong communication and trouble shooting skills are essential, along with 2-year technical training and CP2 certification.

Qualifications

• NACE/AMPP CP2 certification required.
• 2-year engineering or technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of cathodic protection field testing and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Project Design Review, including specifying requirements & verification of inclusion in design.
• Create sketches & drawings for rectifiers, anodes, test stations, & other features for new & existing facilities.
• Assist with coordination with Major Projects Group as well as internal Department projects.
• Attend project meetings for updates, to provide input, & be available for questions that arise.
• Site visits & verification, including during pre-construction/design, during construction, & final walkdown.
• Perform testing as need for design & verification purposed, including soil potential, soil resistivity, current cathodic protection facilities, close interval surveys, etc.
