Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Consulting Specialist in Corrosion & Cathodic Protection to join the national practice within Infrastructure Advisory Technical Delivery. The role focuses on galvanic and impressed current CP design for pipelines, tanks, and related metallic infrastructure across water, energy, and power sectors.

The successful candidate will lead design efforts, perform calculations, supervise junior engineers, and contribute to field investigations and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cathodic protection, corrosion control, or corrosion engineering.
• AMPP CP2/CP3 certification and PE license preferred.
• Experience leading technical tasks and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead cathodic protection engineering and design tasks for pipelines, tanks, and related infrastructure.
• Develop current CP system designs from concept through final design.
• Perform and review engineering calculations (surface area, coating breakdown, current requirements, rectifier sizing).
• Prepare and review CP drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Evaluate existing CP systems and develop rehabilitation or optimization recommendations.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and provide client direction.
