Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an experienced Consulting Specialist in Corrosion & Cathodic Protection to join our national practice. You will lead design of CP systems for pipelines and tanks, perform engineering calculations, and mentor junior staff within a diverse, employee-owned team.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, field investigations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across water, energy, and infrastructure markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience in cathodic protection, corrosion control, or corrosion engineering.
• AMPP CP3 certification or higher; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cathodic protection engineering and design tasks for new and existing infrastructure.
• Develop current cathodic protection system designs from concept through final design.
• Perform and review engineering calculations including protected surface area, coating breakdown, current requirements, and rectifier sizing.
• Lead technical discussions with clients and project teams and clearly explain design basis, alternatives, assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate cathodic protection requirements into multidisciplinary designs.
