Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Consultant in Corrosion & Cathodic Protection to support a portfolio of pipelines, tanks, and related infrastructure across water and power sectors.

You will work with experienced corrosion engineers on CP design, field investigations, and technical deliverables, while developing deeper expertise in corrosion control and cathodic protection. This role emphasizes hands-on field work and engineering analysis in a dynamic, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred in engineering or related area.
• PE license preferred for senior responsibilities.
• AMPP/NACE CP certification (CP-3) or higher.
• Experience with cathodic protection calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Experience in an engineering consulting environment.
• Experience with pipelines, tanks, water infrastructure, or power facilities.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform field activities for corrosion assessment and cathodic protection of pipelines, tanks, and infrastructure.
• Conduct cathodic protection testing, commissioning, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze field data to identify corrosion risks and evaluate CP performance.
• Support design of CP systems, including calculations, sizing, rectifier selection, and drawings.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications with limited supervision.
• Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, and project logistics.
