Job summary

Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Lead PFS Operations Cashier to oversee daily Cashier’s Office operations and ensure accurate handling of patient payments, deposits, and balancing activities. The role focuses on delivering professional service to patients, families, and internal customers across hospital and outpatient settings.

The position requires leadership in a fast-paced clerical environment, strong math and cash-handling skills, and the ability to train and coach staff

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; post-secondary education courses or certification in Business, Computer Sciences, or Office Management
• Associate’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of one year of experience in business office, office management or health information management
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a banking preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the area of leadership decision making (i.e. team lead or supervisor)
• Must be proficient in 10 key and capable of typing a minimum of 40 wpm

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily front-line operations of the Cashier’s Office
• Develop and train new cashiers including ongoing coaching on cash handling procedures
• Evaluate job performance, provide feedback, and maintain adequate window coverage
• Balance vault and change drawers daily; participate in routine audits
• Receive and receipt payments from patients/guarantors and other revenue streams
• Prepare Excel spreadsheet reports documenting deposits and reconciling bank statements
• Assist in balancing Outpatient Retail Pharmacy and Clinical deposit locations as needed
