Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker with leadership capabilities to support store operations. You will assist in maintaining planograms, stock shelves, and deliver exemplary customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

In this role you will unload trucks, stock, process transactions at the register, and help manage a clean, safe, and organized store environment. Previous supervisory exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Familiarity with plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following prescribed process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Greet customers and provide courteous service.
• Operate cash register; total and bag purchases; give change.
• Open/close store under Store Manager direction.
• Authorize refunds and overrides in absence of management.
