Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's policies and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens and responds to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information on stock, special order merchandise, features, applications, and warranty information.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Processes sales, returns, and refunds at the register per guidelines.
• Provides correct monetary change to cashiers for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise.
• Manages checkout coverage and line vesting to optimize service.
• Prepares register area and stocking supplies at shift start/end.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, and signs loading receipts.
• Looks up product information and price match data.
• Records items used in store on use lists and reconciles cash.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates to prevent alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting or theft and reports to management.
• Maintains housekeeping and safety standards across store areas.
• Follows safety requirements for stock handling and equipment.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, scanners, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
