Job summary

Lowe’s in Vincennes, IN is hiring for a customer service/cashier role. You will assist customers, demonstrate products, and guide shoppers through projects while operating the register and handling transactions.

Responsibilities include stocking, loading merchandise, processing orders, and supporting associates across departments. Prior retail/cashier experience is preferred, with focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds to customer questions and guides them through projects
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team)
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds per company guidelines
• Provides proper monetary change to front end associates for register activities
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
• Assists in line vesting to speed up checkout and open additional registers as needed
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and checks functionality of registers/scanners
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
• Looks up product information and price matches
• Records store use items on the store use lists
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances for alarms and security
• Detects signs of shoplifting and reports to management/Asset Protection
• Maintains housekeeping standards and zone recovery for store/working areas
• Maintains a safe/secure work environment including daily safety reviews
• Adheres to safety requirements for top stock safety and power equipment
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, cash recycler, copiers, CCTV)
• Performs other duties as assigned
