Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them to store areas and assisting with projects
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, and warranty information
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds per guidelines
• Provides proper monetary change to associates for register activities
• Removes security tags and bags merchandise
• Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround and coverage
• Prepares register area at start/end of shift and checks registers/scanners
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts
• Looks up product info and price matches
• Records items used in the store in use lists
• Performs daily cash counting and reconciliation
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
• Detects shoplifting signs and communicates them to management/Asset Protection
• Ensures housekeeping standards and store cleanliness
• Maintains a safe work environment and conducts daily safety reviews
• Follows safety requirements for stock, equipment, and safety devices
• Operates store equipment as needed for various roles
• Performs additional duties as assigned
