Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a cashier/retail associate to support customers in a large home improvement store in Minnesota. You will assist customers with locating items, demonstrate products, and load merchandise while ensuring accurate transactions at the register.

Role emphasizes friendly customer service, knowledge of stock and warranties, and capacity to train and guide fellow associates. Includes safety, security awareness, and daily store operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience.
• Less than 1 year computer experience.
• Less than 1 year experience with common retail technology (smartphones/tablets).
• 1 year retail cashier experience.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies and programs.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise.
• Respond knowledgeably to customer questions and guide them through projects.
• Communicate stock, special orders, and warranty information to customers.
• Coach and train associates in department duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds at the register.
• Ensure proper change given to cashiers and manage register area.
• Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers.
• Support checkout efficiency by opening extra registers as needed.
• Prepare register area and maintain supplies at shift start/end.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damage.
• Enter and verify customer orders and loading tickets.
• Look up product info and price matches for customers.
• Record store usage items and perform daily cash reconciliation.
• Monitor cash in drawers and recycler levels.
• Monitor store entrances for alarms and security risks.
• Report safety hazards and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Follow safety requirements for equipment and processes.
• Operate store equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
