• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through projects and areas of the store
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise and warranty information
• Coaches and trains associates in department duties or sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
• Removes security tags and bags merchandise for customers
• Assists in line vesting to speed up checkout and opens additional registers when needed
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and checks equipment
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and processes customer orders and loading tickets
• Looks up product information and price matches
• Records store items on use lists and reconciles cash
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits for alarms
• Detects shoplifting and security risks and reports to management
• Maintains housekeeping and safety standards in store areas
• Operates store equipment as needed
• Performs additional duties as assigned
