Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's policies and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and helps locate, demonstrate, select, carry, and load merchandise
• Responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions and guides them through projects
• Communicates information on stock, special orders, features, benefits, and warranty information
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team)
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns and refunds per guidelines
• Checks out customers and manages change accurately
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
• Assists in line vesting to improve checkout efficiency and staffing coverage
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and ensures equipment readiness
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and verifies customer orders and loading tickets
• Looks up product information and price matches
• Records store items on use lists and reconciles cash daily
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Observes store entrances/exits for security and assists customers/ staff
• Identifies shoplifting signals and reports to management/Asset Protection
• Ensures housekeeping standards and safety compliance
• Maintains a safe work environment with daily safety checks
• Operates store equipment as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
