Job summary

Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) in Massachusetts seeks a dedicated PSS Case Manager to support families transitioning from homelessness by coordinating EA eligibility, gathering documents, and liaising with coordinators. You will help ensure shelter operations, safety, and program compliance while maintaining privacy and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency is required.
• 2 years experience working with homeless or low income families.
• Experience working with clients in crisis.
• Strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate crisis situations.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients.
• Possess well developed decision making skills.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm in demanding and unpredictable situations.
• Computer skills including MS Word and Microsoft Outlook.
• Valid MA Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training Case Managers and Support Staff in all areas of the Priority Support Site.
• Assist with after hours on call responsibilities.
• Assist VPHS in monitoring all program requirements.
• Daily meetings with Case Managers to review and prioritize family roster and unit inventory.
• Meet with each new family within one business day of arrival to shelter and complete intake.
• Ensure families have adequate food and general hygiene products.
• Provide orientation to facility and overview of emergency procedures.
• Assist families with their EA family shelter program application and gather required documents.
• Record entry/exit and case notes in the ETO system.
• Inspect units for health and safety and address concerns.
• Report maintenance issues to admin staff.
• Prepare units for new move-ins and ensure readiness.
• Attend EOHLC and PSS meetings and staff meetings.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Maintain privacy of guest information.
