Job summary

Compass Connections seeks a qualified professional to supervise case management activities for children in our program. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish abilities and relevant supervisory experience within behavioral, human services, or social services fields.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with substantial supervisory experience, and be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Master’s in behavioral sciences or related field, or a bachelor’s with 3 years supervisory/case management experience.
  • Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention.
  • One year related experience and/or training, or three years of progressive supervisory/case management experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: 2+ years related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a caseload in accordance with agency policies and licensing/contract standards.
  • Complete Case Management Tracking for each assigned child.
  • Review reunification packets for accuracy and discuss issues with sponsor.
  • Submit relevant forms to the Department of Children’s Services with Family Reunification Packet.
  • Assist children during departure/reunification as needed.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
  • Foster Care Programs - support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.

Job description

Required – Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields or bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience. Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention Work experience: Required – One (1) year related experience and/or training OR thee (3) years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience with a bachelor’s degree; Preferred – Two (2) plus years related experience and/or training.

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Complete Case Management Tracking for each assigned child.
  • Review completed family reunification packets for accuracy and follow up with sponsor to discuss any issues identified.
  • Complete and submit all relevant forms to the Department of Children’s Services with a copy of Family Reunification Packet.
  • Receive approved interim Verification Release Form, review with child, and obtain child’s signature.
  • Prepare sponsors to successfully complete and sign all required forms and documents. Forward original documents to Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) with a copy to Department of Homeland Security.
  • Complete and submit notice to Executive Office of Immigration Review when Contractor issues approval to release the child.
  • Assist children during departure/reunification, as needed.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
  • Review and sign children’s records in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with families and/or prospective sponsor(s) within the specified timeframe to discuss the role of Compass Connections and the reunification process.
  • Process the sponsor information necessary for reunification within the required timeframe.
  • Actively participate in case staffing meetings with the federal Field Coordinators and follow-up with recommendations.
  • Meet with each assigned child one time between Sunday and Saturday and as requested by child.
  • Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Foster Care Programs - Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.
Requirements:
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to:
    • a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
    • b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
    • c. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
    • d. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
    • e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
    • f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
