Job summary

Compass Connections is seeking a Case Manager to support vulnerable children and families across assigned regions. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or related field, fluency in English and Spanish, and at least one year of crisis intervention experience.

The position involves coordinating referrals, documenting progress, and maintaining compliance with agency standards. Applicants must pass background checks, drug screenings, and immunization policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services field.
  • Preferred – Graduate degree from an accredited program/university in a related field.
  • First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • 1-year related experience and/or training including crisis intervention experience; preferred – child welfare, case management and immigrant populations.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a caseload per agency policies and licensing and contract standards.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, and education programs for professional growth.
  • Maintain a minimum number of weekly contacts with children and families.
  • Continually assess changes affecting child safety.
  • Provide feedback to crisis line staff for appropriate responses and follow ups.
  • Engage children and sponsors in the casework process.
  • Document progress toward risk reduction and service goals.
  • Compile and maintain accurate records and documentation per requirements.
  • Participate in weekly case staffing in the assigned region.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuations when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct per handbook.

$34.67/HR

Language Requirement:

Work Experience:

Required – 1-year related experience and/or training including experience working in crisis intervention; Preferred – Experience working in child welfare, case management, and with immigrant populations is strongly encouraged.

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position
  • Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Maintain a minimum number of weekly contacts with children and families.
  • Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances or conditions that may affect child safety.
  • Provide feedback and support to crisis line staff to ensure an appropriate response to crisis calls, families’ needs are addressed through best possible supports, and follow ups are conducted as needed.
  • Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the casework process.
  • Document progress that children and their family/sponsors make toward risk reduction, achievement of service goals and positive case outcomes.
  • Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
  • Participate in weekly case staffing with case managers, case aides and contracted staff in the assigned region.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate referrals, service planning and documentation of services for assigned caseload.
  • Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal providers and immigration court.
  • Accept crisis calls and provide support to families in crisis.
  • Participate in weekly face to face or phone supervision with the supervisor.
  • Frequently travel from one location to another within the office.
  • Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Foster Care Programs - Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.
Requirements:
  1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  2. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  3. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to:
  • a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
  • c. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • d. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
  • e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
