Job summary

Mortenson in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Carpenter Foreman to provide oversight to project carpentry crews and coordinate, implement and supervise all self-performed work. You will lead the crew, ensure safety and quality, and read blueprints to determine structure and layout.

The role requires a minimum of five years of related experience, apprenticeship completion, and strong teamwork and communication skills to successfully manage on-site activities, subcontractor interfaces, and finishing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program.
• Ability to work with precision, read plans, and operate carpentry equipment.
• Strong teamwork orientation and effective communication.
• Minimum of five years of related experience.
• Physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs, heavier lifts with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper IWP is in place and understood by the crew; examine blueprints to determine structure dimensions.
• Lay out floor plans and cabinet work using tape, framing square, and calipers.
• Select and inspect materials and structural units for code compliance.
• Determine sequence of fabrication, assembly, and erection activities; assign tasks to workers.
• Inspect subcontractor work for specification conformance.
• Install doors, build stairs, lay hardwood floors, and perform concrete and rough carpentry.
• Perform finish carpentry.
• Lead team members by example, offer coaching and feedback, build relationships with diverse individuals.
