Job summary

The Lead Carpenter role at The-Koetter-Group will oversee skilled carpentry on commercial projects while guiding a crew to meet safety, schedule, and quality standards. You will interpret plans, organize materials, and mentor journeymen and laborers on the jobsite.

You will lead framing, drywall, doors, and specialty installations, ensuring quality results. A strong background in reading blueprints and coordinating with project teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience with leadership abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts independently.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee commercial carpentry activities including framing, drywall, doors, hardware, millwork, trim, and specialty installations.
• Lead, direct, and mentor carpenters and apprentices on assigned projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Coordinate daily work activities with project superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Ensure projects meet quality standards, schedules, and customer expectations.
• Maintain jobsite safety and enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Monitor material usage, equipment needs, and jobsite productivity.
• Identify and resolve construction issues in a proactive and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of labor hours, progress, and completed work.
