Job summary

Advocate Health in Concord, NC seeks a senior Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced echocardiography including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and transesophageal studies, while guiding the imaging team.

You will interpret results with cardiologists, ensure quality processes, and participate in ICAEL accreditation. Strong leadership and communication are required.

The role requires 5 years of cardiovascular sonography experience, RDCS-AE or RCS certification, and BLS certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership skills such as delegation, team building, managing multiple priorities, problem solving, and decision making.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
• Advanced knowledge and ability to learn and apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation and techniques, and new computer techniques for the capture, display and analysis of echocardiograph data.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource to employees and students, providing day-to-day work direction and input on performance.
• Assists with interviewing, staff development, performance feedback, and staff morale.
• Performs advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures including M-mode, 2-D and Doppler with various equipment.
• Identifies cardiac abnormalities and correlates test results with anatomy and function.
• Prepares patients, obtains history, and adapts imaging techniques for diagnostic echocardiograms.
• Assists in transesophageal studies with cardiologists and sterilizes probes.
• Records statistics and maintains Echocardiography Lab equipment and standards.
• Implements new technology protocols and ensures adherence to echocardiography standards.
• Drives quality improvements and participates in ICAEL accreditation with medical leadership.
