Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Lead Cardiac Sonographer to supervise echocardiology staff and ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging. You will lead procedures, train personnel, and maintain equipment in a fast-paced Cardiology department.

The role requires 2 years of transthoracic echocardiology experience, accredited credentialing (ARDMS/CCI) and BLS. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in allied health or bachelor’s degree (any major) or completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program.
• Experience: 2 years in transthoracic echocardiology; imaging policies and equipment maintenance.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS by AHA; ARDMS or CCI credentials in at least one population.
• Other: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead echocardiology staff performing transthoracic, transesophageal, and intraoperative echocardiograms.
• Ensure high-quality services, safety standards, and compliance with department and center policies.
• Oversee staffing levels and functioning equipment to support patient care across age groups.
• Train personnel and uphold imaging procedures and protocols.
