Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our inpatient/outpatient imaging team. You will coordinate daily activities, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality ultrasound care across adolescent to geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to IAC standards, patient safety, and collaboration with the department manager to deliver exceptional cardiovascular imaging services in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program or equivalent per Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
• Must meet highest leveled Cardiac Sonography Technologist requirements at the assigned entity.
• BLS certification and echocardiography credential (RDCS) required.
• RCS credential required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the cardiac sonographer staff and provide technical supervision.
• Maintain current IAC requirements and ensure patient care and safety.
• Provide complex ultrasound care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Lead the Cardiac Sonography team with manager guidance.

Responsibilities:

Daily coordination of the activities of the cardiac sonographer staff, technical supervision including maintaining current technical requirements of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), comprehensive patient care and safety. Work with the manager or supervisor to provide team leadership of the Cardiac Sonography team.Able to provide complex technical care with the use of ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Monitors patient care delivery and facilitates patient flow.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) Required

Work Experience

• Must meet requirements of highest leveled Cardiac Sonography Technologist at the assigned entity Required
• 5 years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient / ambulatory cardiac sonographer Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Credential in echocardiography in one of the following: Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Required
