Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a cardiac sonographer to perform inpatient and outpatient ultrasound testing including 2D echo, Doppler, bubble study, and contrast. The role covers assessment of cardiac function, effusion, and thrombus with documentation of preliminary findings for adolescent to geriatric patients.

Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited ultrasound program and ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification with a 12-month credentialing window; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of registry-approved ultrasound program or equivalent as per IAC.
• Two years of related hospital inpatient/outpatient cardiac sonography experience preferred but not required.
• ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification; must obtain within 12 months of hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing to include 2D echo / Doppler exams with bubble study, contrast as well as limited studies for cardiac function, effusion assessment and thrombus assessment. Provide complex technical care with the use of ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and provide all necessary documentation and preliminary exam findings.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:None

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:? Current registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification. ? Must obtain appropriate credential within twelve months of hire date. ? Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Two years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient / ambulatory cardiac sonographer preferred.
