Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital seeks a skilled cardiac sonographer to perform inpatient and outpatient ultrasound testing, including 2D echo, Doppler with bubble study, and limited studies of cardiac function. You will provide advanced ultrasound care, document findings, and participate in preliminary exams for diverse patient ages.

The role requires graduation from a registry-approved ultrasound program, ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS credentials, BLS certification, and preferred 2 years of related

Qualifications

• Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience according to IAC.
• Two years of related hospital inpatient/outpatient cardiac sonography experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing to include 2D echo / Doppler exams with bubble study, contrast as well as limited studies for cardiac function, effusion assessment and thrombus assessment.
• Provide complex technical care with ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and provide all documentation and preliminary exam findings.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law

• Current registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification.
• Must obtain appropriate credential within twelve months of hire date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.

Additional Qualifications

Two years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient / ambulatory cardiac sonographer preferred.
