Base pay range

$13.00/hr - $14.50/hr

Position Summary

Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a seasonal day camp. Ensures a quality experience for children and parents, emphasizing YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Creates a safe, positive atmosphere that promotes safety and engagement following YMCA policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Supervises children, maintaining awareness of their whereabouts and safety.
  2. Implements culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate program activities aligned with YMCA values.
  3. Follows safety and cleanliness standards.
  4. Attends staff meetings and trainings.
  5. Adheres to policies related to medical, disciplinary, child abuse prevention, and emergency situations.
  6. Completes accident/incident reports as needed.
  7. Maintains positive relations with parents and staff, modeling relationship-building skills.
  8. Reinforces children's actions positively to promote safety and self-esteem.
  9. Builds effective relationships with campers and parents, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA.
  10. Collaborates with staff as a team member.
  11. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
  12. Performs other duties necessary for the success of the YMCA.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 18 years of age.
  2. Experience working with children.
  3. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  4. Completion of required trainings.
  5. Ability to effectively relate to diverse groups.
Physical Demands
  1. Ability to lead activities in indoor and outdoor settings.
  2. Lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
  3. Visual and auditory ability to ensure safety and assist members and staff.
