Bon Appétit is hiring an Assistant Cafe Manager in San Francisco. The role supports cafe operations alongside the Cafe Manager, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality, and exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise front-of-house staff, participate in training, manage financial responsibilities, and coordinate with the client team to meet cafe objectives. This position emphasizes safety culture, hospitality excellence, and operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive a culture focused on Food and Workplace Safety.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a high-volume, premium food service environment.
• Experience in restaurant, cafe, hotel, or high-end events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rigorously manage safety standards for guest well-being and compliance.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and inspections; meet safety benchmarks.
• Establish and maintain a warm, inclusive hospitality standard.
• Lead in selection and ongoing training of front-of-house staff.
• Monitor financials and budgetary responsibilities to ensure fiscal efficiency.
• Meet payroll, reports, AR, and HR documentation timelines.
• Operate web-based ordering systems and manage menu updates.
• Maintain strong communication with Cafe Manager and client stakeholders.
