Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Structures and Chassis CAE Engineer to apply finite element analysis to body structure, chassis, suspension, and related vehicle systems. You will lead analysis activities, assess strength, stiffness, durability, and NVH, and translate results into concrete design recommendations.

You'll collaborate with design engineers, support test development, perform fatigue analysis, and drive CAE methods and process improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace related field.
5+ years in product design and CAE field.
Experience mentoring others and providing technical leadership.
Familiarity with optimizing CAE workflows using Python or similar.
Strong fundamentals in mechanics and materials.
Experience with HyperWorks, NASTRAN, Abaqus, LS-DYNA or Adams.

Responsibilities

Perform CAE analyses to support vehicle program execution and technology development.
Support component and subsystem test development and issue resolution.
Perform fatigue analysis and develop test-driven block cycles.
Create, document, and archive analysis models and results.
Present results with actionable recommendations for reviews and decisions.
Lead coordinated supplier CAE activities and assist requirements processes.
Develop CAE plans and contribute to new methods and techniques.
