Job summary

Gestamp is seeking a CAE Engineer to lead virtual simulations for automotive chassis structures. The role emphasizes developing, validating, and interpreting FE models using industry-standard tools to optimize performance while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and OEM teams to deliver lightweight, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions. The position requires strong analytical thinking and communication throughout the product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of automotive CAE experience, preferably with OEM exposure.
• Experience with CAE solvers: NASTRAN, OptiStruct, nCode DesignLife/FEMFAT, and Abaqus.
• Familiarity with preprocessing/postprocessing tools: HyperMesh/ANSA, HyperView/META, HyperCrash.
• Proficiency in LS-OPT, HyperStudy, and related optimization tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, validate, and maintain FE models for chassis products.
• Perform linear, nonlinear, NVH, durability, and life-prediction simulations.
• Evaluate performance against OEM specs and internal standards.
• Conduct correlation/validation with physical test results where applicable.
• Lead technical reviews and prepare reports on models, methodologies, and results.
