Job summary

Student Transportation of America, Inc. in McClellandtown, PA seeks a Lead Mechanic to diagnose and repair buses, manage complex electrical and mechanical issues, and uphold safety standards across our fleet.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of maintenance experience and 3+ years as a mechanic in transportation or school bus environments; CDL and ASE certifications are a plus, with sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

5+ years of maintenance experience in transportation or related field.
3+ years’ experience as a mechanic in transportation, school bus fleet, or heavy equipment environment.
Air Brake and diagnostic experience.
Willingness to obtain a CDL and State Inspection license.
ASE certification is a plus!
Valid CDL license is a plus!
Tools to perform maintenance work is a plus!

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and repairs buses focusing on major complex problems including engine, transmission, electrical and mechanical defects.
Performs upgrades and modifications on bus systems and equipment.
Cleans, repairs, and replaces bus equipment as required.
Research bus systems and manufacturing characteristics for all buses.
Performs in-house and road call bus repairs using hand and power tools.
Tests buses for proper working order.
Document all work performed in RTA Software.
Utilize CMMS when diagnosing trends in parts usage and labor cost.
Perform other duties as assigned; heavy lifting may be required.
