Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to lead operation and maintenance of two 100,000 sf Class A office buildings in Fairfax, VA. You will manage base building systems, supervise maintenance staff, and ensure safe, compliant, and reliable day-to-day operations.

You will troubleshoot, monitor BAS alarms, maintain records, and coordinate with the Chief Building Engineer to support emergencies and planned maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; trade school cert or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years' experience in maintenance and operation of building equipment.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience as lead or senior engineer.
• EPA 608 Certification is required.
• Proficiency with BAS platforms, preferably Desigo CC.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Monitor BAS, respond to alarms, adjust setpoints, and schedule operations.
• Prioritize service requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
• Assist with inventory and procurement of parts and supplies.
• Support emergency response activities and building operations supervision.
