Job summary

Stream Realty Partners in Washington, DC is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to supervise maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings and systems across our portfolio. You will plan and schedule work, administer service contracts, and provide technical support to the Chief Building Engineer while ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role requires deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems, plus strong communication and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Commercial Building Operations, Property Management, or a related industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional tenant/vendor interactions.
• Good organizational skills with ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and life safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and supervises maintenance across building systems.
• Supervises minor construction or building alteration projects.
• Keeps records and prepares reports.
• Administers service contracts and bids for contracts.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with departments, public, and outside agencies.
• Inspects buildings for safety hazards and accessibility requirements.
• Assists with budget and energy usage analysis.
