Job summary

JLL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer for an on-site role in Jacksonville, FL. You will oversee operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems with minimal supervision, possibly assisting the Chief Engineer with team guidance.

Responsibilities include completing maintenance tasks, supporting preventive maintenance, managing work orders in CMMS, and on-site safety training, with Monday–Friday hours and rotating on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive; valid driver license
• Monday to Friday with a rotating on-call schedule

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, furniture repair, locksmith work.
• Assist implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain the work order system (CMMS) daily and respond to tenant service requests.
• Move office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with safety procedures and participate in training programs.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
