Job summary

JLL in Indianapolis is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will supervise contractors, manage HVAC equipment, plan work, respond to emergencies, and ensure safety and compliance across the facility.

The role involves coordinating with the operations team, preparing reports, and supporting capital projects to improve efficiency and uptime at the site.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license is required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing and electrical.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs, climbs ladders up to 30 ft, and communicates effectively in English.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to follow Jones Lang LaSalle and client policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervises contractors and monitors their performance.
• Directs Maintenance Technician and coordinates service requests.
• Prepares operations and mechanical reports and evaluations.
• Maintains HVAC systems and building automation systems.
• Plans work schedules and prioritizes tasks.
• Responds to emergencies and ensures safety compliance.
• Performs minor plumbing and interior maintenance.
• Coordinates procurement and inventory controls.
• Documents work using Angus work order system.
• Participates in safety and training programs.
