Job summary

JLL in Miramar, FL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee building systems, maintain CMMS data, and ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety. You will lead a maintenance team, manage service requests, coordinate preventive maintenance, and implement improvements while complying with codes and JLL policies.

The role requires EPA and CFC certifications, 5+ years of experience, and on-site presence with a Monday–Friday schedule plus on-call.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience in building engineering with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• EPA Universal certification is mandatory.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software and IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update CMMS information for all building operating systems.
• Ensure successful operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and delegate tasks as needed.
• Respond to online service requests with minimal disruption to client operations.
• Assist emergencies and after-hours activity as requested.
• Manage installation of new or replacement equipment.
• Keep detailed inventory of parts and order replacements.
• Support Chief Engineer with operational improvements and cost-saving ideas.
• Interact with customers professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and JLL policies.
