Job summary

JLL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer in Houston to lead the operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Schedule is 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday with on-call duties. You may assist the Chief Engineer and supervise a team while delivering reliable facilities management.

Responsibilities include supervising preventative maintenance, updating CMMS, training staff, and handling on-call emergencies. On-site presence is required in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education or union training or military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing and HVAC maintenance
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventive maintenance program
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and handle tenant service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision to expand the Engineering team
• Support on-call or emergency response situations
• Troubleshoot building systems including electric, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Participate in ongoing safety and operational training programs
• Other projects and tasks as assigned
