Job summary

Stream Realty Partners is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in the Washington, DC area to supervise maintenance, repair, and alteration of building systems. You will plan projects, administer service contracts, and provide technical support to the Chief Building Engineer, ensuring safety and efficiency across the portfolio.

The role requires 5 years in commercial building operations, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Commercial Building Operations, Property Management, or related industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication in professional environment.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of commercial base building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and life safety systems.
• Compliance with codes, OSHA standards, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, orders materials, and supervises building systems work.
• Supervises minor construction or building alteration projects.
• Keeps records and prepares reports.
• Manages service contracts, RFPs, bid conferences, bid evaluations, and contract awards.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with departments, public, and outside agencies.
• Inspects buildings for safety hazards and accessibility.
• Prepares plans/specs for small remodeling and construction projects.
• Provides time and materials cost estimates.
• Analyzes energy usage and recommends savings opportunities.
• Assists in budgeting and capital improvement planning.
• Supports development of goals, policies, and work standards.
