Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT, to join our building electrical team. You will lead electrical design for institutional and industrial projects, coordinating with discipline leads and ensuring code compliance.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years in building electrical design, a PE/P.Eng license, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power. This is a full-time position with employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Experience at an architectural/engineering firm is preferred.
• Interest in sustainable design/LEED is a plus, not required.
• PE or P.Eng license required for this location.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through schematic design and contract document phase.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review electrical documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
• Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devices.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
