Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead design efforts for large institutional and industrial projects within the Utah area, coordinating a design team and ensuring code compliance.

You will work with Project Managers and other disciplines to deliver complete, coordinated electrical systems. The role requires a BS in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis, 3+ years in building electrical design, and a PE/P.Eng license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis is required.
• Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems) is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license recognized by the licensing board is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
• Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devices.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and incorporate changes into project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
