Job summary

Penske Entertainment in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Broadcast Systems Engineer to manage the IMSP control and technical rooms, lead on-site crews, and ensure smooth production operations for motorsports events.

The role requires expertise in broadcast video, 2110 standards, and hands-on maintenance of complex systems. Candidates should be able to work under pressure, travel as needed, and maintain professional client relations across partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Engineer in Charge of mobile units or large-scale remote productions.
  • Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of broadcast video production.
  • Familiarity with 2110 standards and applications.
  • Expertise in the design, implementation, maintenance, and use of complex broadcast and presentation systems in a fixed facility environment.
  • Proficiency with broadcast test equipment (meters, waveform monitors, vector scopes, spectrum analyzers, computer interfaces).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, industry standards, and laws related to broadcast and remote TV production.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and professionalism.
  • Record-keeping and report preparation experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and email.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to supervise and lead crews.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver in fast-paced live events.
  • Skilled in client relations and delivering exceptional service.
  • Up to date with current broadcast technology and best practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and flexible mindset; commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the control and tech rooms, ensuring systems are operational.
  • Install, maintain, and repair all systems.
  • QC audio, video, and data signals from remote broadcast sites.
  • Support Indianapolis-based streaming equipment with transmission engineer.
  • Lead the technical crew on-site for IMSP equipment.
  • Provide timely maintenance reports within 24 hours of events.
  • Support production staff with event setup and execution.
  • Act as IMSP’s on-site engineering representative.
