Job summary

Penske Entertainment in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Broadcast Systems Engineer to manage the operation, upkeep, and performance of IMSP control rooms and remote broadcast systems.

You will lead the technical crew on-site, ensure smooth production operations, coordinate with transmission and field teams, and deliver timely reports. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to high-profile motorsports productions.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Engineer in Charge of mobile units or large-scale remote productions.
  • Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of broadcast video production.
  • Familiarity with 2110 standards and applications.
  • Ability to supervise and lead crews.
  • Proficiency with broadcast test equipment and measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and client relations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the control and tech rooms, ensuring all systems are operational.
  • Install, maintain, and repair all systems.
  • Establish and QC audio, video, and data signals from remote broadcast sites.
  • Work with transmission engineer supporting Indianapolis-based streaming equipment.
  • Manage shipping and receiving at IMSP field shop.
  • Review and confirm remote orders at least 72 hours prior to events, resolving discrepancies in advance.
  • Provide timely and accurate technical reports within 24 hours of event completion.
  • Maintain a detailed maintenance log and ensure follow-up on repairs.
  • Lead the technical crew on-site, assisting with IMSP-owned or rented equipment.
  • Support production staff with event setup and execution.
  • Serve as IMSP’s on-site engineering representative, acting in alignment with company values and interests.
