Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead field inspections of roadway and bridge construction in the Atlanta area. You will identify deficiencies, enforce contract specifications, and oversee QA activities.

The role requires a civil engineering background, extensive field experience, strong reporting skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff. Night/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in civil engineering or related field with relevant roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of highway/bridge specs, materials and testing.
• Ability to read complex construction plans and reports.
• Proven ability to work independently and make field decisions.
• Safety-focused with valid US driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Identify deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work and materials against specs.
• Provide mentorship and QA guidance to junior team members.
• Prepare written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Serve as SME on Developer activities, remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site activities and inspect materials per plans and provisions.
• Oversee sampling and testing per CQAP and project schedule.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer's Contractor and IQF.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve construction quality issues.
• Ensure IQF inputs QA data into Materials database on time.
• Confirm material certifications for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain required docs.
