Job summary

NV5’s Pacific Northwest team seeks a seasoned Bridge Engineer to lead planning, analysis, and design of complex bridge projects in Seattle, Bothell, or Vancouver, WA. Hybrid work requires three in-office days weekly.

You’ll apply advanced seismic design techniques, supervise staff, and deliver PS&E packages while coordinating with cross‑discipline teams across locations. 5–10 years’ bridge experience and a PE license are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license in Oregon and/or Washington is required.
• SE certification is a plus.
• 5–10 years of bridge engineering experience including design and analysis.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and Civil3D; familiarity with ODOT/WSDOT projects is a plus.
• Experience managing tasks, projects, and professional staff.
• Strong knowledge of seismic design and nonlinear analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, administration, and design of structural bridge projects.
• Conduct detailed structural and seismic analyses for bridges.
• Develop and review calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel structures.
• Prepare reports, plans, specs, and estimates.
• Use software like Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, MathCAD.
• Ensure PS&E documents are delivered on time; coordinate with multi-location teams.
• Perform quality control and assurance for project execution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards, codes, and client objectives.
• Develop quantities and cost estimates; support CADD teammates on bridge plans.
• Meet project deadlines and budgets; contribute to safe, durable infrastructure.
