Job summary

NV5’s Pacific Northwest team is expanding, and we want you to be part of our growing success! We’re seeking a passionate bridge engineer to lead groundbreaking projects and tackle complex challenges in Seattle, Bothell, or Vancouver, WA, with a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office).

You’ll design and analyze reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel structures, and other materials, utilizing tools like Midas, LEAP, and MathCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in Oregon and/or Washington is required or in process.
• SE certification is a plus.
• 5–10 years of bridge engineering experience including design, plan preparation, structural analysis, seismic analysis and design.
• Experience with MicroStation and Civil3D.
• Experience with Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD is a plus.
• Experience with ODOT/WSDOT projects is a plus.
• Strong project management and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, administration, and design of structural bridge projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
• Conduct detailed structural analysis, seismic analysis, and design for various bridge projects.
• Develop and review engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel structures, and other materials.
• Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Utilize engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD for project delivery.
• Ensure timely delivery of PS&E contract documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across various geographic locations.
• Conduct quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards in project execution.
• Apply advanced seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques to bridge projects.
• Develop quantities and cost estimates, ensuring projects stay within budget.
• Collaborate with CADD technicians to develop detailed bridge plans and specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, code requirements, and client objectives.
