Job Overview

Oversee the breakfast service for our guests, ensuring a quality dining experience with excellence in guest satisfaction, high food quality standards, and service. Prepare food and beverages for breakfast, and maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure breakfast meets all brand and local health regulations.
• Maintain inventory of needed supplies; keep all items at par level.
• Comply with standards outlined in the brand’s food sanitation checklist.
• Complete monthly food audits.
• Be familiar with hotel facilities, their locations, and hours.
• Put away supplies according to food standards, promptly.
• Be dependable and prompt, arriving on time in a clean uniform with a nametag.
• Prepare breakfast food and beverage items, setting out all hot and cold food following safety regulations.
• Replenish all food and beverage items during the meal period, ensuring all foods are at safe temperatures.
• Keep tables bussed and cleaned throughout breakfast and happy hour, vacuuming as needed.
• Receive and unpack items from vendors, date and pack them according to FIFO standards.
• Greet guests, assist with service if needed, and replenish coffee.
• Build rapport with guests, solve problems when able, and report issues immediately.
• Learn about guests through conversations, aiming to learn three pieces of information about at least 10 guests daily.
• Pass on sales leads obtained during guest interactions to management.
• Create and maintain a pleasant breakfast presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness, store food properly, and manage trash removal.
• Look for cost-effective ways to improve breakfast appeal.
• Assist in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school education or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum of 3 months in a similar role.

Knowledge/Skills

• High school level mathematical aptitude, knowledge of ordering procedures, and safe food handling processes.
• Experience dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills.
• Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to read written communications and handle paperwork.

Physical Demands

This role involves lifting trays, dish racks, and other items weighing 20-100 lbs, manual coordination, bending, kneeling, maneuvering in narrow spaces, and prolonged standing. Climbing stairs, handling hot and cold environments, and performing multiple tasks are required. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
